Nationals.....

Nationals was an experience, to be sure! The Twins should have updates to their blogs soon so check it out there. I'll post a few pics soon.

I don't know if it's even possible to thank Evan and Troy enough for all of their help and support at the races. They were there with the Cannondale truck and they set up an ran the best pit area at Nationals for The Twins and Sloane. They also helped support a few other Cannondale riders who stopped by. THANKS GUYS!!!!! You do an awesome job!

Ran into Vinnie and Deerslayer over there in Wisconsin. Good to see both of you guys! Vinnie still owes me a beer.

Red Bud Road was like a "trip" back to my Army days in the early 70's. Unreal! Really loud tunes blasting, a disco ball in a tree, a DJ sitting behind a table looking, well, looking a bit stoned, unreal bigger than life traffic signal hanging from a tree with it's lights flashing....... I was waiting for Jimi to step out of the woods and crank up his guitar. I'd been up for about 20 hours with 3 hours of sleep in the previous 24 which added to the surreal atmosphere. I'm sure there may be a couple of you who can relate.... Picture the scene in "Apocolypse Now" where Martin Sheen and the guys pull their boat into the harbor late one night to get fuel....

That's it for now.

Peace out, yo!

Nice ride today....

Also the "Oldest City in Black Hawk County", though that sign, on the north side of town, is being used for something else these days....

This should be familiar to everyone....

New Hartford....

Where is this birdhouse located?
Last week's prize went unclaimed since no one correctly located the "flowery mailbox". It's on the north side of the Finchford-Janesville blacktop between the tracks and "pothole bridge".

Just slightly over 50 miles today. I rode up through Janesville, Finchford, New Hartford, and back to Cedar Falls via 27th Street.

Ran into Kerkove at the Main Street bridge in CF.... Where did you go, Jeffrey? I stopped and waited. Oh well, another time. My legs were shelled anyway. It seemed like harder work today than it normally is. Perhaps watching The Tour has worn me out? Hmmmmmm..........

That's it for now.

Peace out, yo!

Spanked.....

Joined the group ride tonight and got dropped after 2 miles. OUCH! Oh well, it's all good. I'll try it again soon and see if I can last for 3 miles. It's been a very long time.

Peace out, yo!

Wowwwwww........

It's a scorcher outside today! I went for a ride this morning around 9 or so and met The Twins under the Hwy 58 bridge just west of Pfeiffer. Apparently they had just done the Shell Rock loop at a fairly quick pace. Crazy!

Me? I rode up to The Dome then pedaled south down Hudson Road to Hudson and back up the bike trail to Waterloo. Saw one cyclist going north on Hudson Road by the Target distribution center with his bags and panniers..... Must've been training for that big race across Iowa that's coming up. At least he had a tailwind! The only others I saw besides The Twins were Chris Congdon and another Bike Tech rider, whom I didn't recognize. Met them out by the dog track while they were heading south on the bike trail.

Still haven't had anyone tell me where the mailbox is. C'mon guys.... You ride past it all the time!

That's it for today.

Peace out, yo!

The thermometer at the bank in Hudson said 93 today....

Remember last January? Much cooler!
Rode to Hudson then Dike and back to Cedar Falls on 27th Street via the Fredsville blacktop today. It was HOT!!! I now know what a turkey feels like in the oven on Thanksgiving. S'posed to be even warmer tomorrow. I can hardly wait! Woohoo!
Jackal and Moo went to Ames today with Eduardo for a triathlon. Waiting for the report and pics....
That's all.
Peace out, yo!

Friday....

Beautiful day....

Alright kiddies, you didn't get the "court" so let's see if anyone knows where this mailbox is at. It's worth a white chocolate chunk with blueberries cookie at the Pronto in Hudson.

The "court" is on the north side of Shirey Way in Hartman North as you enter from the east down near the second gate.

The day started with a trip to Cedar Rapids at 5:30 am to take a motor for a press to be repaired. Who knew that Janda had moved from Blair's Ferry Road to H Ave. downtown? Hmmmmm..... Oh well. I found it by 7. It's all good! Jackal says his race for tomorrow was cancelled.... Why, you ask? Too much rain and not enough time to clean up fallen trees. It's a MTB race, right?

Floyd's still in YELLOW at the end of today's stage!!!! That's kinda cool!

That's all for now.

Peace out, yo!

I'm a little disappointed that no one has located the "court" yet.....

Peace out, yo!

It's hot outside!!!
The corn is gettin' up there....

Cruisin'....

Here's an easy one.... Where's this shed located?

Alien spacecraft landing....

Took off at about 9:30 this morning and headed up to Janesville. I wasn't sure where I'd go from there when I left but decided to head over to New Hartford and see what happened from there. It was getting quite warm so I stopped and bought a banana and Gatorade in New Hartford and then headed south to 27th and back into CF. I think that the temperature climbed about 22 degrees while I was riding. Whewwwwwww....... It was a warm one!

Brother of Jackal called me from Readlyn to ask for some advice on hanging a storm door on his new house but figured it out on his own by the time I'd finished my ride. Good job Eric!

Kerkove won the 6 hour race yesterday at Blue Mound, Wisconsin. Good job, Jeff!

No one has located the basketball court yet but Slade wants to shoot hoops there. Watch out for the poison ivy!!!

That's it for now. I'm going to go watch some television and decide whether I want to ride a few more miles or walk this evening.

Italy wins 5-3 in a shootout!!!!!

I hate shootouts in games like that but what can I say? Rules are rules.... If I had my way, they'd play until they had a winner on the field. Oh well....

Peace out, yo!

End of the week.....

Cedar River in the morning....

Where's this "court" located?

5 Bucks.....

The end of a very long "short" week. Finally! I'll work a half day tomorrow at the plant and call it good. Good luck to Kerkove at Blue Mound this weekend.

Peace out, yo!
