....is mostly under water.

Yesterday started with a trip to Ulrich Park in rural Cedar Falls with Jackal to help set up Eduardo's 5k Adventure Run. It was 17 F when we left the house at 6:45 am and headed to Jag's for coffee. Eduardo had somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 runners show up for the run in the brisk 19 degree early morning weather. Scott Gall of The Runner's Flat in CF was the overall winner with a time of 18.23. The hi-lite for me was the battle between Deerslayer and Bidwell out on the course. Awesome! Two local mountain bikers out running.... Check Eduardo's site for details and results. A good time was had by all!

I travelled down through the Hartman North Unit yesterday afternoon to check the trails and see what the water level was. Still pretty much flooded, though the river is going down and the gravel is dry. I suspect that the Greenbelt is in the same shape.

I'm taking vacation this coming week with the plan being to ride the bike a little bit every day. It looks like the weather forecaster is trying to challenge those plans. Highs in the mid 30s with rain and/or snow forecast nearly every day. Will it stop me from riding? Hmmmm....... We'll see.
