What a difference a day makes....

The 1x1....
Riding the dike....
There's still a little water over the East Lake trail....
The goo turned to slop....
The old Cedar Falls dam is still under water....
Hartman North....
The burned prairie covered with new snow....
Entering Cedar Falls from Black Hawk Park....
Farmstead near Cottage Row Road....
It snowed today! Not at as much as they had originally forecast, but snow just the same. Heavy, cold, wet snow. It's like riding through 4 inches of water. A real mess! Add the wind and you have a joyous good time! The snowflakes were falling horizontally to the ground! 20-25 out of the east by northeast. BEAUTIFUL tailwind along Lone Tree Road while heading toward Black Hawk Park! Water and slush flying everywhere! (That entire trail was covered with about 3 inches of slop!) I suspect that the snow will only last a day or two because it's going to warm up in the next few days. I probably should have held off for another week to take my vacation, eh? Oh well, riding in the slop is hard work, but it's riding. Better than sitting at work or watching television all day. Besides, you get to clean and lube the bike when you get back. That has to be a plus? 25 miles of cold, wet, sloppy goodness! oh yeah!
Happy Birthday to Shona up in the Great White North!!!! She's 23 today!
That's it for now.
Ride safe.
Peace out, yo!

Rode to work today and got my ass kicked. Lots of snow and messy slush. Oh, I wish I could find a job in California and move for a couple of years. I just need a break from Chicago. Love the place but it sure is hard to live here if you are a cyclist.
Gotta have the mtb with the fenders until at least may.
Blue keep rocking!

Blue - hard to believe those are only a day after yesterday's pictures. It is a brutal life up there in Iowa.

Glad to see the snow didn't pack its full, promised power. I really didn't want to wear my snowmobile suit up there on Sunday.
