Single speedin'....

Rode the Surly tonight. It was good!
Closer view of Fat Albert's groupie bus. Click to enlarge....

The Surly is set up as 34 X 20 right now. Top speed of about 12 mph. It's going back to 34 X 17 before it rolls again. Kicked my ass tonight!
There is apparently a bit of controversy out there regarding the tour bus in the background of this picture. It's Fat Albert's bus. Trust me.
I hope everyone has a great 4th! Independence Day! Enjoy, but be safe. Me? I'm going to plant 5 evergreens in the back yard tomorrow. Should be fun! They are quite large. 10 gallon pots. Heavy. Judy has 10 shrubs she wants to plant also. That means a lot of digging for me. She'll supervise and tell me where to dig the holes, I'm sure. :)
Ride safe.
Peace out, yo!

I'm glad to see the water is back down to a safe level in the river. The carp fishing should be good again. Nice picture!! It is also clear to see by the signs on the side of the bus whose fan club it is. As those signs are so expensive to have done, I'm sure nobody would do that in jest....

The question of the 20 bucks still lingers. I believe the bet was that I couldn't put the blue '55 Chevy up the driveway, sideways. As I remember, I accomplished that mission....

there were several carp fishermen and women and their families on the new bridge on the westside trail at big woods last night. made the bridge nearly impassable and they didn't want to move. oh well.

the river is nearly back to normal now. the old dam in cf is still under water, so it's still 2 or 3 feet above normal.

i can't believe that i would have made a bet like that involving my car but if you say i owe you twenty bucks, i must owe you twenty bucks. is cash ok, or do you want a check? if i send a check, will you cash it this time?

have a great 4th.

Blue - I hope you have a big shovel and that the ground is really soft.

I hope the ground is extra hard and that he has to work at digging the holes...he deserves it!!! Hey, maybe Judy will make him dig the holes in dresspants in relation to HIS tour!!! :)

I shiver when I see your Surly. It makes me think of winter, of roads that are unpassable, long dressing times, frozen feet. Summer is like cheating.

That Surly is a sweet ride no matter what the weather.
I can feel your pain on the yardwork detail. We are not in charge! :^)
Have a great weekend.

thanks! i love the surly. heavy, simple, indestructable.

i ended up planting 7 evergreens, each about 4 feet tall and maybe 75 pounds with the rootball and dirt. i'm beat. just finished watering them, now we'll watch them grow. it's all good!
