It' Friday!!!!
Kat, The Enforcer....
South into the wind....
We had 5 people for the group ride last night. Jackal, Tom, Brother of Jackal, The Thin Man, and myself. There was a pretty stiff wind out of the SSW but it wasn't terrible, as long as you could stay on a wheel. The motorists that we encountered were all pretty good. I'd give a grade of B+ for last night. We headed out 27th then south to Dike and back into town on old 20, which gave us a touch over 32 miles.
Kat and Kim and the ladies were leaving on the "L" ride about the same time we left the shop. Hope you gals had a good time too!
Jackal is racing up at Clear Lake this weekend. Crit on Saturday evening and a road race on Sunday morning. He did well up there last year and hopefully will do the same this year. Sounds like a bunch of the Bike Tech crew will be there too. Good times!
Thanks to everyone who posted comments and suggestions on the previous post. I certainly appreciate your input. We definitely need to do something to end the "near misses" with automobile traffic. I can say with assurance that the cyclists involved in all of the incidents that I have witnessed this year were doing nothing wrong. Not saying we're perfect, but.... :)
Have a great weekend!
Ride safe.
Peace out, yo!

Have a GREAT weekend Blue,
Ride safe.
Hey, I was right about something. It's a first.
Sorry to hear about the road rage. It has been suprisingly courteous in West Virginia. We get an occasional gas pedal masher post pass. We just yell, "four bucks a gallon!" and laugh.
About your previous post, I am glad to hear all are okay. Syd has always refered to this phenomenon as "lycra envy" and I think she is at least partially right.
But the other half is just stupidity too. An assumption that silliness on their part isn't dangerous to us out here on bikes.
But then again, I do have to admit, I rarely have confrontations with cars in the woods! :^)
Good luck to Jackal.
Have a safe weekend too!
Glad you all had a relatively uneventful ride Thurs. The Enforcer will be sure to jump on some of those efforts in the near future.
The near misses are not to be tolerated but - the sad thing is the exact people who are doing this literally have nothing to lose and the recipients have everything to lose.
Good to get the message out there and looking to see all of the Buchanand in full force at Clear Lake - got to be good.
